![]() First VisitIn order to treat each individual to his/her unique bite and facial features, the first visit to our office consists of a one-on-one meeting with Dr. Tingey. You will be asked to complete a health history/personal information form which can also be accessed from this website for your convenience. Digital photographs will be taken, and Dr. Tingey will perform a comprehensive exam, which involves looking at the teeth, jaw and facial area. This is a totally painless, information-gathering session. Dr. Tingey will then discuss treatment options and recommendations based upon his findings. This is a great opportunity to discuss questions and express concerns so Dr. Tingey can also understand how best to approach any orthodontic problem and how best to meet the patient's goals for treatment. As a courtesy to you and your dentist, there is no fee charged for this visit or recall visits. Dr. Tingey also welcomes the opportunity to provide you with a complimentary second opinion for orthodontic treatment, if desired. Starting Treatment If treatment is recommended, the next appointment is for orthodontic records, which means models of the teeth and x-rays to visualize the jaw relationship. These records are taken at our office. They enable Dr. Tingey to make informative decisions about how best to approach the orthodontic needs to provide the best results. After the records are taken, a custom treatment plan is developed which combines the diagnosis, patient needs, general dental concerns and expectations. A full outline of the appointments, treatment and financial arrangements are given. Regular Appointments The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals four to eight weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes twenty to forty minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, and Wednesday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, with lunch from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Tuesday - Thursday. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made four to eight weeks in advance. Appointment Times Designated for Certain ProceduresWe know that you don't like missing school or work for appointments. However, because of the nature of our practice, it is impossible to accommodate everyone for these sought-after appointment times. To make our schedule run smoothly and to benefit our patients, there are certain times of day that certain procedures are performed. Long appointments are scheduled in the morning while shorter appointments are scheduled in the afternoon. This enables us to provide excellent quality care at all times. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Payment & Office Policies Cost The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. We do not accept assignment from insurance plans, but to help you receive your benefits we will file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable. Fees In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
Because of the variations among insurance policies, we have adopted certain procedures to streamline filings and allow you to more expediently receive your benefits. Our office policy is to not accept insurance assignment. We are more than happy to provide you with receipts so that you may file for reimbursement. Upon starting comprehensive (full braces) treatment, we will be glad to submit your form to the insurance company with all of the pertinent information. Remember, although we will submit this initial form, all monies from the insurance company will come to the employee listed on the form. In addition, you are responsible for submitting any additional receipts each month if required. Instead of monthly receipts, some companies require written verification that treatment is continuing. If you receive this form, either bring it at your next appointment or mail it to us, and we will verify it and forward it for you. Back to Top |
